
I first began working on digital games in college where I made this simple maze. The goal of the game is to collect the 3 keys hidden around the maze. You start in the center near three hallways, two of which are blocked off by doors. Headed down the first hallway you can find the first key shown above.

Once the key is collected you can see it listed in the upper left hand corner. I hope you can retrace your steps because now you’ll have to make your way back to the center of the maze.


Once you made your way back to the center of the maze you can use your key to open either of the two doors you could not open earlier. To achieve this the game uses one of two key count variables to check if you can open the door or not. The first variable keeps track of the keys you have available for door. This count will increase by one when you find a key and return to zero when you open a door.
The other variable used to count keys is the same count you see displayed in the top left of the screen. Once this count reaches three you win the game!
